St Lukes Art Group

We are an art group that meet every Wednesday morning during term time in St Luke’s Church transept.

The group was started in 1995, originally as an art class taught by the late David Jackson, a well known local artist.
When David sadly died, the students wished to carry on meeting and painting together as a group in his memory.
Danielle Brewster took up the reins, co-ordinating the group.

During each term of ten weeks, we have five workshops run by two renowned artists, Chris Forsey and Adrienne Parker. In the remaining five weeks, we practise what we learnt from the tuition.

We use various art mediums. Watercolour, pen and ink, acrylics and sketching to name just a few.

The transept is warm and a good size for our group of 18 people. Natural light comes from three aspects of the room, a real bonus from an artist’s perspective!

Parking is not a problem for us as we use the Scout Group car park just opposite St Luke’s churchyard

We are a friendly group of all ages and open to everyone.
